Jim Hollingshead is a Group Leader and Global Account Manager in
Monitor’s San Francisco office, and a member of the management
team of Marktet2Customer® (M2C®), Monitor Group’s strategic marketing
arm.
Since joining Monitor upon the completion of his PhD in 1993, Jim
has worked with senior executives across a wide range of industries,
including consumer goods, telecommunications, healthcare, and a
variety of industrial markets. For the past several years, Jim’s
worked has focused on helping clients to find and capture sustainable
sources of profitable growth, through the application of M2C’s
proprietary marketing tools such as segmentation, customer profiling,
offer development, and brand deployment.
Jim has worked with a number of high-tech companies, in industries
such as fixed line, mobile, and IP-based telecommunications, software
development, network outsourcing and network storage, and biotechnology.
Jim’s experience with Monitor is truly global, having worked
in several offices and regions. From late 1999 through 2003, Jim
managed European operations for M2C, working out of Monitor’s
London office. Before coming to London in 1999, he spent two years
as the head of Monitor’s office in Istanbul, Turkey.
Jim was awarded his MA and PhD degrees in Political Science from
the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned a variety
of departmental, university, and national honours, including the
prestigious National Science Foundation Fellowship. Jim’s
undergraduate education was completed at Stanford University, where
he earned a BA in History and International Relations, achieving
both university and national honours (Phi Beta Kappa). Prior to
his doctoral program, he worked in customer relations, sales, and
market management for a large manufacturer in the US.
